No Nicki. No Kim. The REAL Sex Rap Originators!

I absolutely do NOT endorse women being exploited. In almost every facet of business, -whatever the industry- sex is used to sell everything. I saw a commercial with a woman dancing in ass-cleavage bearing shorts, in an advertisement for what?

CHEWING GUM.

With the exception of fetishists, what the fuck does chewing gum have to do with sex? As many times as I've had sex, never once have I heard a man say, "Spit gum on me, SPIT your GUM ON ME!" A few days ago, I lambasted someone on FB for using a photo of an almost naked woman on his cd reproduction services flyer. Each cd sold for $0.65. I was like DAMN! You're using a beautiful woman's image to sell something for 65 fucking cents? That's all she's worth?

I say this because some of WTS posts are about women whom (seemingly) use sex to sell.

Let it be said there is a difference between being sexy and it being marketable, and using sex to sell.

There is also a big difference in being pimped, and being sexually forward. The main difference is CONFIDENCE. If you believe you're sexy and like showing it off, it's expression, not exploitation. If you're sexy because it's in your contract not your heart, that would fall under exploitation. Sex and sex appeal must come from being true to yourself. The women we write about may be sexually blatant, but they are so because it's who they are and what they want. Let's compare Millie Jackson and Rihanna. Millie Jackson was a trend-setter who meant every word of her raunchily explicit lyrics. We know this because first and foremost, she wrote her own songs. She wrote about what she knew, and didn't give a fuck about who it affected. She would sing about fucking your husband, and what time you could expect him home. Rihanna on the other hand, was plucked at the age of 14, "developed" then had material released. Her songs are written for her, as are all video concepts.

She has male-handlers while Millie on the other hand man-handles. One is confident, one is compliant. Big difference.

Before there was Lil' plastic surgery Kim or booty-injected Nicki Minaj, there was Baby Girl, the mastermind behind the gangsta sex rap group Hoez Wit Attitudes. In 1989 Baby Girl teamed up with members Jazz and  Diva (aka Go-Di), and H.W.A was born.

Sexually assertive and raw, they were signed by Eazy-E for his Ruthless Records label in 1990. These 3 Compton natives pushed the envelop with their pussy-in-your-face' lyrics and 'I dare you' attitude. Sexually free, they used their rhymes to battle misogynist rappers at the time. The Hoez wanted it to be known that they were not only sexual predators but were not having any shit from any man.

During their career, they released two albums.

Their debut album titled 'I Ain't No Lady,' proved that no topic was taboo. No topic was too daring and their brazen attitudes were showcased in almost every song. In the song, ("Little Dick"), they rapped about how bullshit it was for a man to be teeny-peened, even telling him he could get 'smoked' for lying about his dick size (one of the funniest songs ever!). They had songs about sex hotlines ("1-900-Bitches"), Cunnilingus ("Eat This"), and unapologetically confessed to being nymphos on their song ("Freaky Daze").

Our kinda gals :-)

The song that put them on the map was their first single "Funk Me."

 The song explained,

"Just take out the 'N', and put a 'C', come on everybody do the 'Funk Me..'"

It received a fair amount of radio play and heavy video rotation. Their second album 'Az Much Azz As U Want' had one single called "Just A Little Action." Its video was banned immediately. Even the independent video outlets deemed it 'too raunchy' and refused to play it. After the second album was released shortly before  Eazy-E's surprise death in 1994, H.W.A disbanded without any future releases.

Years later, Baby Girl released a solo record on an indie Chicago label. The group reunited in 2012, and have been performing dates overseas.

These women were fierce. They were  unconcerned with how they were viewed, and original. Bold and beautiful, they were Classic. Raw. Honest.

Everything we look for in WTS
Unlike most overtly sexual artists of today, these women chose their own route. They wrote their own songs and dressed risque because THEY wanted to, not because their label pushed them to do it. They were GROWN ASS WOMEN who stood up for themselves and said what they wanted to say. Although a bit gimmicky, they weren't puppets. They created music about fucking, sucking and bucking and that was all that mattered to them.

H.W.A were Hip-Hop pioneers in their own right. They spoke on behalf of so many women at that time, helping provide them with a provocative and aggressive sexual voice.

H.W.A. We thank you for your bravery..

Witcha nasty selves.. WESSYDE!
